Albums

One album per occasion – with the date of the occasion, a description and a cover picture.

An album is a collection of photos for one occasion: a festival, a concert, an engagement, a trip. Everything that belongs together sits in one album – and gets a title there that still tells you something in ten years.

Creating an album

Open Pictures and tap New album.

Enter a title. Write it so that it still says something later: "Summer festival 2026" is better than "Photos".

Enter the date of the occasion – optional, but useful.

Save. You land in the album straight away and can put pictures into it.

The date is the date of the occasion

The date you enter means the day the occasion took place – not the day you add the pictures. That is the difference that makes an old collection sortable: if you upload the photos from the 1998 spring concert today, they sit under 1998 and not under today.

Albums are ordered by this date, the most recent at the top. An album without a date is not a mistake – it simply lines up after the dated ones.

The cover

In the album list every album shows a small picture. By default that is the first photo in the album – you do not have to do anything.

If you want a different one, you can set it as the cover. If you later delete that photo, the album merely loses its cover and falls back to the first picture; the album itself is untouched.

Renaming and deleting

Use the pencil icon on the row to change title, date and description.

Deleting an album takes its photos along

If you delete an album, its photos move to the recycle bin as well. They stay there for thirty days and can be restored. Only after that are they gone for good – and only then does their space become free again.
