Adding photos
Pick several pictures at once from the gallery or take one right away – the original is kept.
Inside an album you will find two buttons: Choose photos takes pictures already on the device, Take photo captures one with the camera right away.
Several at once
You can select any number of pictures in one go – after a festival that quickly becomes three hundred. While they are being transferred you see how far along it is.
Leave the app open
While the progress is running it is better to keep the app in the foreground. If you cancel, the pictures transferred so far are there, the rest are not.
When one does not make it
If a picture is damaged or in a format we cannot handle, the app tells you exactly which one. The others have still arrived – a single broken picture does not ruin the whole batch.
You then only need to select the named files again, not all of them.
What happens afterwards
Immediately after uploading, a picture still sits in the grid without a preview – you see a placeholder in its place. At that moment the two smaller versions are being created in the background; after a few moments the picture appears. You do not have to do anything for that and may leave the page.
While doing so the app also reads the capture time out of the picture. It later appears in the full-screen view – see Viewing and browsing.
Which formats work
JPEG, PNG, HEIC and HEIF (iPhone), WebP, AVIF, TIFF, GIF and BMP. A video is not a photo and is rejected.
Each individual picture may be at most 100 MB. That is enough for any camera in use in a club, and it keeps you from accidentally picking a film.
The gallery opens the system photo picker. You do not need a photo permission for that – you only release the pictures you select. Only the camera asks for permission the first time.
In the browser the familiar file dialog opens. There you can mark several files at once using Ctrl (or Command).
