Keeping an eye on storage
How much photo storage is used, what counts towards it and how you get more of it.
Photos need space. How much is available to you depends on the feature you have booked.
The bar above the album list
As long as there is enough space, the app shows nothing – the number would be information nobody needs. From about 60 percent full, a bar appears above the album list showing "used of total" and what is still free.
When it gets tight, the bar changes colour. When it is full, it says what that means.
What counts
Only your originals count. The two previews the app creates in the background do not count towards your allowance – the operator pays for those.
A deleted photo does not free its space right away
Deleted pictures stay in the recycle bin for thirty days and can be restored during that time. Because the file is still there, it keeps counting. If you need the space immediately, empty the recycle bin.
When the space is used up
The app then accepts no new pictures and tells you while you are selecting how much is missing – not after forty minutes of uploading, but beforehand.
Whatever is already there is completely unaffected:
- All albums and photos stay visible.
- Viewing, browsing and downloading work unchanged.
- A photo is never deleted because space is running short.
You therefore have two ways out: tidy up, or add more space.
Adding more space
In the bar above the album list you will find Add storage. There you see how much an additional package brings and what it costs. It is billed together with what your club already pays – no second invoice appears.
If you add or remove space mid-period, only the remaining part is charged.
Storage cannot be added in the app. Open your club administration in a browser for that – you will find the way there via the album list.
Booking less costs you no pictures
If you give additional space back, nothing is deleted. If your collection is then above the limit, only uploading pauses until there is space again. Everything already there stays reachable.
