Adding and fetching files
Upload, download and delete – on the computer and on the phone.
Uploading
Drag the files from Explorer or Finder onto the area above the list – or click the area and pick them in the dialog. Several at once is expressly intended.
Tap the area above the list. Your device's file picker opens; there too you can mark several files.
The files land in the folder you are currently in. If you have gone into a subfolder, they land there – the area says so too.
Nothing gets overwritten
If you upload a file with the same name as an existing one, it gets a name of its own: Report (2).pdf. Two people filing their respective Invoice.pdf on the same afternoon lose nothing.
Large files are no problem: they are split into parts and transferred piece by piece. You can see how far along it is while it runs.
If one out of twenty does not make it
Then the app tells you exactly which one and why – the other nineteen are there regardless. You do not have to select everything again.
Downloading
Tap a file.
The file opens in a new tab; from there you save it as usual.
The file is fetched and your device's share sheet opens – "Save to Files", forward it or print it.
Deleting
There is a bin symbol at the right of every row. It only appears if you are allowed to manage files.
Final
File storage has no recycle bin. A deleted file is gone – not after thirty days, but straight away.
You delete an empty subfolder the same way. If something is still inside, the app refuses and tells you.
When there is not enough space
Files and photos share one allowance. If it is not enough for the batch, you find out before anything is transferred – not after forty minutes of uploading. More on this under Keeping an eye on storage.
